Partners, Friends and Associates of the PRA and State Rural Development Councils
Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Partners,
I am writing to you today to ask you to consider supporting the Partners for Rural America by signing on as an associate member of the organization of State Rural Development Councils across the United States.
Associate Members contribute Personal support ($25), Organizational support, ($100), or Leadership support ($500).
Your contribution will advance the ability of state councils to share their findings nationally and contribute to advance policies in support of rural communities throughout America.
The National Rural Development Partnership and the association of State Rural Development Councils have passed through a time of trial.
We succeed today because our common mission and the policy and program efforts we lead are critically important to the advancement of rural America. State councils are providing services that range from community assessments that help rural communities engage the skills and energy of residents, set priorities, and line up to better their lives and futures, to policy efforts, economic development organization, and planning services. SRDCs are entrepreneurs that put communities first and actualize the mission of the NRDP by serving as neutral conveners, brokers of new partnerships, and facilitators of progress.
State Rural Development Councils survive and thrive because we have seized state level opportunities. We also hold a national mission—by statute and by conviction—to consider what we learn together, to compare and coordinate policy and program work that crosses state boundaries, and to support the national advancement of rural development efforts.
Partners for Rural America is the SRDC national arm that gives us the power to work together—to represent rural America, to explore policy and program challenges and recommend solutions, to evaluate programmatic and funding opportunities that cross borders and respond to national needs.
We are succeeding as a team today because of the many contributions of SRDC leaders on the board, as advisors, and as partners. We have the strong congressional support. We are moving forward to build new partnerships at the national level, and exploring new ways to work together. Together, we can make the PRA a national leader in rural development policy and practice.
But we need your help. Please sign on as a supporting member of PRA today!
