State Councils Approved to Extend Federal Recognition
Apr 29th, 2009
Dear colleagues:
USDA has approved the process for Councils to extend federal recognition. Each State Council that has been federally recognized (even those without an executive director - but still have the organization in tact) will be receiving a 1 page document from USDA to sign. It needs to be signed by your Council Chairman or President and the Executive Director, then sent back to USDA. No other application is due. If you currently do not have an Executive Director, a signature from your Council Chair and Vice-Chair is acceptable. Two signatures are required per Council. This completes the process for state councils to be able to receive federal funds should they become available.
